I was drawn to this copy of ‘The Story of Art’ by its cover – simple and striking, and wrapped in a protective layer of tissue paper on a shelf in Blackwell’s Bookshop in Edinburgh. It is amazing that such a vast collection of art can be housed in such a small volume, and I take delight in the fact that I learn something new every time I pick it up.
