Einstein’s Dream by Alan Lightman

“Delightful… [Lightman] is an artist who paints with the notion of time… a provocative exploration of time’s illusive nature.” RICHARD EDER, LOS ANGELES TIMES

This pocket-sized book is a wee treasure. It reads like series of short stories although it’s loosely structured as a novel. Each chapter is a different dream Einstein might have had when he was working in Bern on his theory of relativity. The dreams describe different worlds, each with its own distinct conception of time. Alan Lightman is a physicist but the stories are poetic and fairytale-like. A beautiful little book to dip in to or read in one sitting. I loved it.
