A very challenging and inspiring analysis of the relationship between art, philosophy, dance, theatre and poetry; how they fail and how they can be re-affirmed in their expressive and representative aims. He uses fascinating examples from Pessoa, Mallarme and Beckett and one of my favourite chapters, ‘Dance as Metaphor for Thought’, made me think a great deal about hove my love of dancing relates to my wider interests and art practice.
